On September 5th and 6th 2010 the heart of Toronto, Yonge-Dundas Square, will transform into an ocean of people dressed in Green and yellow swaying like waves to the rhythm of Brazil.

The second annual Brazilian Day Canada will showcase our vibrant culture to the international community, in celebration of Brazil’s Independence Day.
In 2010 the event will be a 2 days Brazilian treat. The first day of the event, which is going to happen on September 5th, will be dedicated to the Brazilian gastronomy, with a typical Brazilian dish, “feijoada” being served at the Square, surrounded by culture, dance and handcrafting.
According to Tânia Nuttall, the Brazilian Day 2010 will have among its attractions local Brazilian artists, children, and also Canadian artists. “The event is called Brazilian Day Canada and it is important to also have Canadian culture involved”, said the event’s producer.
Last year Yonge and Dundas was almost a green and yellow sea, and this year the Brazilian colours will be spread even more. The negotiations with the City Hall and The Toronto Transit Commission are happening right now and the plan is to close Yonge street from Dundas to Shutter.
